چکیده

Within the psychological literature there are a number of models that reproduce the defining properties of habituation to a single stimulus. However, most of them do not reproduce the phenomenon of dishabituation shown in empirical studies, consisting in the recovery of a stimulus previously habituated upon the appearance of a novel stimulus. The present work offers a model of habituation which, in addition to reproducing the basic properties of habituation to a stimulus, also does so when more than one stimulus is presented, and thus includes the dishabituation phenomenon. This model consists of two functions, one called "activation" and the other "availability", and is tested by means of simulation of the responses in the context of different stimulus patterns. The results of the simulation show a good qualitative fit to the empirical results on the phenomena of habituation, including dishabituation. In addition, the model is suitable for inclusion in associative models that reproduce classical conditioning, which will make it possible in the future to incorporate into these in a simple way the influence that the habituation of each stimulus may have on its association with other stimuli.

A Computational Model of Context Processing

A computational model of the context processing is presented. It is shown in computer simulations how a stable context representation can be learned from a dynamic sequence of attentional shifts between various stimuli in the environment. The mechanism can automatically create the required context representations, store memories of stimuli and bind them to locations. The model also shows how an...

High stimulus specificity characterizes anti-predator habituation under natural conditions.

Habituation is one of the most fundamental learning processes that allow animals to adapt to dynamic environments. It is ubiquitous and often thought of as a simple form of non-associative learning. Very little is known, though, about the rules that govern habituation and their significance under natural conditions. Questions about how animals incorporate habituation into their daily behaviour ...

Effects of stocking density, feeding technique and vitamin C supplementation on the habituation on dry feed of pikeperch (Sander lucioperca) pond reared juveniles

Influence of three different stocking densities, vitamin C supplementation of Daphnia spp. and feeding practice (i.e. mechanical, hand) on the success of dry feed habituation of pond reared pikeperch juveniles was investigated through one month trial. Pond reared pikeperch juveniles were harvested 42 days post-fertilisation (mean individual weight 1.1 ± 0.3g) and stocked into the experim...

Coordination Approach to Find Best Defense Decision with Multiple Possibilities among Robocup Soccer Simulation Team

In 2D Soccer Simulation league, agents will decide based on information and data in their model. Effective decisions need to have world model information without any noise and missing data; however, there are few solutions to omit noise in world model data; so we should find efficient ways to reduce the effect of noise when making decisions. In this article we evaluate some simple solutions whe...
